The name “The Great Leveller” (which I love) was lifted from a description of an ancient piece of artwork found in Pompeii (see image). This updated interpretation was based on that 2000 year old original. The weight (the skull) is death. The soul is the butterfly. Fortune is represented by the wheel. It resides in the National Archeological Museum in Naples, Italy. While the original has been sold, get yourself one of these limited edition signed and numbered prints before they're gone!
